Picking-up the car
When you get to the car:
- Use the code you were given to open the key safe
- Normally the key safe is mounted to the rear licence plate. The car page tells you the location of the key safe for a given car
- You can enter the lock digits in any order
- Get the car key, and relock the key safe (else someone might try to read-out the code)
- In the car, pull-out the log:
- fill the time and mileage (odometer reading)
- for a new month, please start a new page.

Where are the cars?

Cars are stationed in various areas of Boulder, chosen for ease of access and width of coverage.
All the cars are on or near bus routes, and have a nearby bike rack.
See the car info.

What if the car isn't there when I reserved it?
This is a rare event.
Please report this to us, so that we may investigate it, and make sure you don't get billed for the rental.
You may take a cab, and bill BCS for the cost.
Or you may reserve a different car.

What's the code for the key safe?

Return questions

What if I need the car longer than I reserved it?
Use the reservation system to extend your reservation.
If that conflicts with someone else's reservation, you MUST return the car before their reservation starts.
What if I return the car late?
You must mark the car log with the actual return time, and you will be billed for that extra time.
If someone had reserved the car and not found it, you will also be billed for their cab expenses.
What if I return the car early?
Use the reservation system to cancel the rest of your reservation.
This won't save you any money: you will still be charged for the time you reserved.
But it will allow someone else to reserve the car during that time.
